How an appointment works

Book your time
Reserve an in-office or mobile appointment by phone or email — most requests confirmed same day.

Bring ID & documents
Arrive with valid government photo ID and the unsigned document — don't sign until we're present.

Sign, witness & seal
We confirm your identity, witness the signature, and apply the official notarial seal on the spot.
Good to know
Lawyer, Notary Public, or Commissioner of Oaths?
The three titles get used interchangeably, but they're not quite the same thing.
Commissioner of Oaths
Can witness signatures and administer oaths for affidavits and statutory declarations. Every lawyer is automatically a commissioner of oaths.
Notary Public
Has all the powers of a commissioner, plus the authority to certify true copies and notarize documents for use outside Canada. Not every lawyer holds this appointment.
Our notaries

ATP Notary & Signing Co. provides notarization, certified true copies, and affidavit services across Toronto and the GTA. Our notaries are lawyers licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and appointed as Notaries Public and Commissioners of Oaths, with full authority to notarize any document.

Our notaries are lawyers licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, appointed under the Notaries Act. Seals are registered and recognized for use across Canada and internationally.

Notarizing is what we do at this appointment — we won't use it as an opening to sell you unrelated legal services. If you need something beyond notarization, we'll say so plainly.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes — both in-office and mobile visits are by appointment. Most requests are confirmed the same day.
What do I need to bring?
Valid government-issued photo ID and the document, unsigned. Don't sign or date anything before your appointment — it's the notary's job to witness you signing.
How much do you charge?
Flat, published rates — see the Pricing section above. Fees are per signature/seal, not per page.
Will my document be accepted?
We notarize in accordance with Ontario law and Law Society of Ontario guidelines. Acceptance by a third party — especially a foreign institution — depends on their own requirements, so it's worth confirming with them directly.
Can you notarize a document in another language?
We can notarize a signature on, or a copy of, a foreign-language document. We don't provide translation services, but can notarize a translator's affidavit if you bring your own translation.
Do you offer mobile visits?
Yes — home, office, or hospital, anywhere in the Toronto & GTA area. Mobile visits include a base travel fee.
